About us

Born and raised in KwaZulu-Natal in a small suburb called Verulam. Mohamed Ifthikaar Shaik completed his matric in 2012 at Verulam Secondary School and furthered my culinary studies at the international hotel school. I then began working professionally at some of the big groups in the KZN region like the southern sun (Tsogo Sun), Durban ICC and comfortably serves on the South African chefs association.  The SA Master Chef semi-finalist says “I have a passion for the Indian cuisine mainly for the depth in flavour, colour, and history behind these dishes. I have decided to relocate to the western cape in 2022 and start a new life with my family at Nouveau. Together we’ve captured the hearts of many locals through our hard work we put into delivering bold and flavourful refined dishes. 

As a chef, it is important for me to continuously hone my skills and be inspired to keep bringing you a memorable and consistent Nouveau experience.
